Woman Riding Scooter Struck By Bus In Athens

ATHENS, Ga. – A woman who was riding a scooter has been sent to an area hospital after being struck by an Athens Transit bus.
The bus windshield was shattered and the vehicle came to rest partially on top of the scooter during the incident Wednesday afternoon.
Witnesses said the rider was thrown onto the pavement from the impact but was conscious and talking when an ambulance arrived to take her to an area hospital.
They said the wreck occurred when the scooter turned left in front of the bus.
